Childhood obesity has increased worldwide. We conducted a questionnaire survey to assess the lifestyle factors of students in grades 4-8 of the Esterházy Móric Language Teaching German Nationality Primary School in Csákvár in the light of obesity. A total of 164 students completed the questionnaire. 25% of students eat three meals a day. Only 12% of young people eat five meals a day. An important component of nutritional habits is regular breakfast but only half of the students eat breakfast every day. 56 children said that it is mainly their mothers who pay more attention to nutrition, and only 8 students responded that it is their fathers. 23 students said that neither parent pays attention to this. 87% of those surveyed said that fruit is often on display at home. Sweets, soft drinks, and chips are always at home in 54% of families. Regarding shared family meals, 53% eat breakfast or dinner with their parents daily, 30% only eat with their parents on weekends, and 16% do not usually eat with their family. 82% of students have parents who cook several times a week, 14% have parents who cook only on weekends, and 3% have parents who rarely cook. 24% of the 164 students included in the research eat in the cafeteria. The most frequently purchased food is hot sandwiches. 50% of the children pack food from home to eat at school. When we compared the results of our research with those of domestic and international studies, we found that the situation here is no different with regard to students' health behaviors related to lifestyle and nutrition.  Kulcsszavak: childhood obesity, multifactorial, lifestyle of young people, family patterns, role of the educational institution
