Since the 1960s and 70s, social scientists and ordinary people have viewed (big) cities with strong ambivalence. It helped dispel fears and guide expectations in the right direction when, in addition to sociology, psychology also became interested in urban research. This process organically contributed to the formation of environmental psychology in the 1960s. Nowadays, environmental psychology is already involved in settlement planning and development.
