The differential diagnosis of a crying, unsettled infant can be difficult as the symptom may have many causes, ranging from the simple to the serious. A thorough physical examination and identification of potentíal causes are essential in pediatric care. Hairthread tourniquet syndrome is a rare condition that occurs when one or more hairs or threads wrap around a small, protruding part of the body, compressing the area or limb and ultimately impairing blood circulation. The toes, fingers, and genitals are most commonly affected. If left untreated, this can lead to a serious condition that endangers the affected body part, requiring urgent treatment. Early recognition and appropriate treatment are critical to minimizing potential complications.  Kulcsszavak: Tourniquets, Hair, Syndrome, Toes, Infant, Crying, Diagnosis, Differential
