Brain abscess and empyema are life-threatening intracranial infectious diseases with high rates of disability and mortality' Recent advances in diagnosis, antimicrobial theripy, and neurosurgical treatment have contributed to a gradual decrease in the incidence and mortality ol these diseases. ln this case series, we report and analyze two cases of brain abscess during this period. we would like to emphasize the very diflerent presentation and course of the disease with equally favorable outcome  Kulcsszavak: brain abscess, subdural empyema, Streptococcus intermedius, magnetic resonance imaging
