Balneotherapy treatments provided by the medicinal water base in Hungary may appear as complementary therapies in the treatment of psoriasis. Our preliminary study aimed to investigate the antipsoriatic effect of the iron-alum medicinal water of Parád in psoriasis. Members of the control and psoriasis study groups received 10 bath treatments, each lasted for 20 min at 38 oC. We examined the changes in the patients? skin symptoms by measuring the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index, the parameters of C-reactive protein and sedimenta-tion, and changes in the regulatory T cell activity and the levels of IL-17A cytokine in pe-ripheral blood. In patients living with psoriasis, a non-significant improvement in skin symp-toms and reduction in inflammation parameters was observed upon balneotherapy. The Parád spa bath therapy seemingly reduced the inflammatory parameters of the blood and the symp-toms of the skin, however, further research is indicated to better understand the immunolo-gical changes behind.  Kulcsszavak: psoriasis, balneotherapy, inflammation parameters, regulatory T cell activity
